Chairman Of Commission X DPR Optimistic Of The Indonesian National Team Winning Against Bahrain At GBK

JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission X DPR RI, Hetifah Sjaifudian, is optimistic that the Indonesian national team will be able to rise and appear more solid when facing Bahrain in the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification, Group C, the Asian Zone which took place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK), tonight.

Hetifah believes that the Garuda national team can improve performance after the results were not satisfactory in the previous match.

"After the unsatisfactory results against Australia, I am sure the coaching team and players have conducted a thorough evaluation. This match against Bahrain is an important moment to prove the ability of our national team. I am optimistic that the national team will appear more solid and be able to bring home positive results," said Hetifah, Tuesday, March 25.

Hetifah emphasized that Indonesia's chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup are still open, although it is now in fifth place in Group C with 6 points from 7 matches.

The opportunity to qualify directly is getting tougher, but we still have a chance to go through the playoffs. The condition is to win the match against Bahrain and China, and at least steal points from Japan. This is a tough task, but with the right spirit and strategy, the opportunity is still open," said Hetifah.

As Chairman of Commission X DPR RI in charge of sports, Hetifah also highlighted the importance of community support in increasing the spirit of competing for the players.

"Football is not only a matter of strategy in the field, but also about enthusiasm and togetherness. Full support from the community will be an additional energy for players to perform optimally on the field," said Hetifah.

Hetifah hopes that the Indonesian national team can appear with the winning mentality when facing Bahrain. The most important thing is that the players can maintain focus, play calmly, and maximize every opportunity. If the players are able to play discipline and confidence, I believe the good results can be achieved," added Hetifah.

He also highlighted the role of PSSI and the coaching team in preparing the right strategy to face Bahrain. Hetifah reminded that the team must learn from mistakes in the previous match.

"Evaluation and improvement in game tactics are the keys to dealing with Bahrain who has a strong fast and physical style of play. I believe the coaching team has prepared the best strategy to face this challenge," he said.
