Banyumas Police Investigate Allegations Of ART Persecution By Employers In East Jakarta

PURWOKERTO Banyumas Police through the Women and Children's Service Unit (PPA) of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Sat Reskrim) visited the house of a household assistant (ART) named SR (25) in Tanggeran Village, Somagede, Banyumas. This step was taken to clarify and deepen the alleged abuse experienced by SR by his employer in Jakarta.

Banyumas Police Chief Kombes Pol Ari Wibowo said that the investigation was carried out after his party received information from TikTok social media regarding victims of persecution. The report was received on Friday, March 21, and a team of investigators were immediately dispatched to gather further information.

"From the results of the investigation, it is known that the victim is a resident of Tanggeran Village, Somagede, Banyumas Regency. He has worked as an ART in Jakarta since November 2024 and is suspected of being abused by his employer," said Kombes Pol Ari Wibowo on Saturday, March 22.

As part of the handling of this case, the PPA Unit of the Banyumas Police Criminal Investigation Unit collaborated with the Sector Police Chief, Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, and Bhabinkamtibmas Somagede Police to take the victim to Banyumas Hospital for medical examination. In addition, accompanying officers from UPTD PPA Banyumas Regency also provided assistance for the recovery of the victim's health and psychological condition.

According to Kombes Pol Ari Wibowo, the victim suffered injuries to the head, hands, and legs as a result of the alleged abuse.

"We have coordinated with the East Jakarta Metro Police for further handling of this case," he said.

This case is being processed further by the police to ensure justice for the victims and take firm action against the perpetrators of the persecution if found guilty.
