Gibran Highlights Bekasi Floods, Asks HIPMI And Baznas To Help Victims

JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka highlighted the post-flood conditions in Bekasi City and Regency, West Java, and invited the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) together with the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) to help ease the burden on the victims.

"Incidentally, a few weeks ago the Chairman of Baznas went directly to several flood locations in Bekasi and there it happened very sad and our brothers and sisters there need all of our help," he said at the BPP HIPMI iftar, Monday, March 17.

In his speech, Vice President Gibran expressed his concern about the condition of the flood victims who were witnessed directly when inspecting the affected locations.

The vice president also invited HIPMI members who wanted to distribute zakat assistance and other forms of assistance to distribute it through Baznas.

"Incidentally, the Chairman of BAZNAS is already here, so he can go directly through him," he said.

The Vice President also appreciated the enthusiasm and optimism shown by HIPMI members.

The vice president mentioned that many HIPMI alumni are now major figures in various fields, including regional heads, ministers, and party leaders.

"The optimis is felt, the spirit is felt, the positive vibration is also very much felt. So it's not surprising that HIPMI dropouts are all big people," he said.

The event was attended by a number of businessmen, religious leaders, and special presidential envoys. Vice President Gibran also expressed his hope that the Chairman of BPP HIPMI, Akbar Himawan Buchari, would continue to be successful in his future career.
