100 Grams Of Methamphetamine Hidden In A Bag Of Pants, 2 Bandars From Tanjung Priok Arrested

JAKARTA Two drug dealers from Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, with the initials MS (31) and AY (37) were arrested by members of the Central Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit on Monday morning, March 3. When searched, the police found a package of methamphetamine weighing 100.7 grams neatly stored in the bag of one of the perpetrators' pants.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro, revealed that the disclosure of this case began with reports from residents who suspected drug trafficking activities in the Sunter Agung area, Tanjung Priok.

"We received information from the public that drug transactions often occur at that location. After an investigation was carried out, the team managed to secure two suspects, MS and AY," said Kombes Susatyo, Monday, March 3.

During the search, the police found a package of methamphetamine-type narcotics stored in the bag of one of the suspects' pants. In addition, two cellphones allegedly used for transactions were also confiscated as evidence.

To the police, the two perpetrators admitted that they got the illicit goods from someone with the initials Boy, who is now on the wanted list (DPO). Police are still continuing to develop to capture the main supplier of this network.

"We are still conducting further investigations and hunting down other suspects involved in this network," he added.

Now, the two perpetrators have been detained at the Central Jakarta Metro Police for further investigation. In addition, the police have conducted urine tests on the two perpetrators and sent evidence to the laboratory to confirm the content of narcotics in the confiscated package.

As a result of their actions, MS and AY were charged with Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

This case is again a warning that drug trafficking is still rampant in Jakarta, and the police are committed to continuing to eradicate its network of dealers to its roots.
