Looking For 5 Missing Victims Of Bandang Bima Flood, NTB Police Deploy K9 Dogs

A total of six personnel from the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police and one K9 sniffer dog were deployed to assist in the search for flash flood victims in Wera District, Bima Regency.

"According to the leadership's instructions, the deployment of SAR-capable personnel and sniffer dogs is to assist in the search for flood victims in Bima, who are still missing," said Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Kombes Pol Muhammad Kholid in Mataram, Thursday, February 6, as reported by Antara.

He explained that the SAR-capable sniffer dog is an animal belonging to the general public who has received special training from the K9 Animal Unit of the Directorate of Samapta Polda NTB.

"So, the sniffer dog that we sent to Bima already has SAR capabilities and has received training for about a year," he said.

He hopes that with the support from the K9 Animal Unit, victims of flash floods in Nanga Wera Village, Wera District, Bima Regency can be found soon.

Until the fifth day after the flash flood, it was recorded that there were still five residents who had not been found. There are allegations that the victims were dragged along during the flash flood on Sunday, February 2 night.
