BMKG Predicts Rain In Almost All Big Cities In Indonesia Today

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that rain will flush almost all major cities in Indonesia on Saturday, January 25.

Through a weather forecast broadcast in Jakarta, BMKG Prakirawati Satriana Roguna explained the potential for light rain in Banda Aceh, Medan, Pekanbaru, and Padang.

"Be aware of the potential for thunderstorms in the Tanjung Pinang area," he said, quoted by Antara.

Still in Sumatra, said Satriana, light rain is also predicted to occur in Jambi and Pangkal Pinang. As for the rain, it is predicted to occur in Bengkulu, as well as rain accompanied by lightning in Palembang and Bandar Lampung.

In Java, he continued, light rain is predicted to flush Jakarta, Serang, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya. As for Bandung, moderate rain is forecast.

"Starting to the islands of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, light rain is predicted in the Mataram and Kupang areas, while in the Denpasar area it is predicted that moderate rain will occur," he said.

In Kalimantan, said Satriana, rain is forecasting to flush Samarinda. The rain accompanied by lightning is predicted to flush Pontianak, Tanjung Selor, Palangkaraya and Banjarmasin.

In Sulawesi, light rain is predicted to occur in Makassar, Palu, and Gorontalo. Meanwhile, it is predicted to rain in Manado, as well as rain accompanied by lightning in Mamuju and Kendari.

Meanwhile, for Eastern Indonesia, it is predicted that it will be foggy in Jayapura, as well as light rain is predicted to flush Ternate, Ambon, Manokwari, and Nabire.

"Ja Jayawijaya area, moderate rain is forecast, and be aware of the potential for rain that can be accompanied by lightning in the Sorong and Merauke areas," he explained.
