The Search For Glodok Plaza Fire Victims Is Still Ongoing To This Day

JAKARTA Exactly one week after the fire case at Glodok Plaza, Tamansari, West Jakarta, the search for victims continues to this day, Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Disaster Data and Information Center (Pusdatin), Mohamad Yohan, explained that the search for victims was accompanied by the manager of the Glodok Plaza building.

"Currently, the majority of the building managers have gone down (to the location of the fire). Because they are cleaning, this is being tidied up by the building manager to make it easier for us to look for casualties," Mohamad Yohan told VOI, Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

Yohan said, joint officers encountered problems in finding victims of fires on the 7th and 8th floors of the Glodok Plaza building because there were still many ruins of the search area.

"Our obstacle is in search because the location is messy, this is being tidied up by the building manager to make it easier," he said.

Meanwhile, the aid used by joint officers from the DKI Jakarta Damkar and DKI Jakarta BPBD were in search and evacuation of the bodies of fire victims using only manual equipment.

"The search for (victims) is normal. Like axes, hammers, stretchers must be brought to search. Big hammer and ax destroyers," he said.

Previously, officers again found the bodies of the victims of the Glodok Plaza fire. The victim was found incomplete. The body was taken to the Forensic Medical Installation of the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta on Tuesday, January 21, afternoon.

One bag of the body was taken in an ambulance belonging to the Dokpol Biddokkes Polda Metro Jaya and arrived at around 15.33 WIB.
