JAKARTA - Head of DKI Jakarta Satpol PP Satriadi Gunawan reminded the public not to damage public facilities just to hunt for prize coins from the Jagat application distributed in Jakarta.
"Public facilities such as plants, trees in city parks, benches, utilities facilities, and complements to sidewalks and roads are facilities built by the government for the community. Therefore, let's work together to maintain the existence of this facility," said Satriadi in his statement, Tuesday, January 14.
Satriadi emphasized that the destruction of public facilities that disturb public order and the comfort of the community can be subject to sanctions.
Referring to Article 12 letter (b) of DKI Jakarta Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2007 concerning Public Order, it is stated that every person or body is prohibited from committing acts or actions for any reason that can damage fences, green lines, or parks, along with their equipment.
Then Article 61 paragraph (3) states that anyone who violates Article 12 letter (b) is subject to a maximum imprisonment of 180 days or a maximum fine of IDR 50 million.
"Damaging public facilities or carrying out activities in public spaces that cause disturbances in order and comfort can be subject to threats of sanctions, both criminal and administrative," said Satriadi.
On the one hand, Satriadi also hopes for cooperation from related agencies to help oversee community activities according to their duties and authorities.
"This supervision is not only the responsibility of the Satpol PP, but also requires synergy from related agencies. That way, the existence of public spaces can be utilized optimally by the community," he explained.
The hunt for this world coin has started to cause problems in a number of areas. One of them, this activity has been proven to damage a number of facilities in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, such as garden lights, grass damage due to being stepped on, to paving blocks dismantled by hunters.
Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta Teguh Setyabudi has ordered the DKI Satpol PP to oversee the points of the Jagat coins distributed in Jakarta.
The Jagat application, a virtual world-based social media platform, is in the spotlight after the "Jahat Coin Hunt" feature sparked the phenomenon of hunting for coins in various city parks in Bandung and several cities in the country.
