MAKASSAR - The Makassar City Government will review all permits for the construction of twin towers in the Center Points of Indonesia (CPI) area. The municipal government will reprimand the contractor for violating regional laws and regulations (perda).

Mayor of Makassar Moh Ramdhan Pomanto, who is familiarly called Danny Pomanto, said that a review of all permits needed to be carried out so that justice in development could occur.

"We will review the permit and will reprimand because the twin towers are built on green open space (RTH) and there are laws and regulations," he said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 2.

Danny Pomanto said that he really understood and knew in detail about the Center Points of Indonesia (CPI) reclamation area. Because he was a designer or architect for the development of the area long before he became mayor.

Danny Pomanto stated that the location for the construction of the monumental project by the South Sulawesi Provincial Government is on land which is designated as green open space (RTH).

"I know very well the details of the CPI because I am the planner, how large it is I also know very well. Based on the initial design, the location is the new Karebosi field there," he said.

Danny Pomanto explained that the land area based on the initial design for RTH was nine hectares and the remaining land was seven hectares, so that the total of 16 hectares was included for the replacement sports field from Karebosi Field in Makassar.

"So the location is the new Karebosi field which has been revitalized. So in the CPI we make all of them, totaling 16 hectares," he explained.

Previously, in the location of the twin towers construction, four floors of the total 35 floors to be built by the South Sulawesi Provincial Government would later be designated as government offices and the DPRD building.

In addition to government offices, this building will also be equipped with a business and service center, such as hotels, commercial retail, cafes and restaurants as well as MSMEs.

The land area used to build one of the tallest twin towers in Southeast Asia is eight hectares of the total land area allocated by the South Sulawesi Provincial Government of 157 hectares.

Previously, the Mayor of Makassar M Ramdhan Pomanto (Danny Pomanto) stopped the project at Metro Tanjung Bunga. The road widening project and other facilities previously came to the attention of the Governor of South Sulawesi Nurdin Abdullah.

Danny Pomanto emphasized that he would prioritize the COVID-19 pandemic prevention program. Therefore, budget refocusing will be carried out by the Makassar City Government.

Danny Pomanto emphasized that the Metro Tanjung project was discontinued.

Previously, the Governor of South Sulawesi, Nurdin Abdullah, inaugurated the Amphi Theater for the Phase 1 widening of the Tanjung Bunga Metro Street on Thursday, February 25.

"We will not continue the Tanjung Metro road project, the budget will be used for handling COVID which has been far from the maximum," said Danny Pomanto.
