JAKARTA - The loading and unloading activity of rice supplies at the Cipinang Main Market Food Station is still ongoing amid the increase in rice prices that have occurred since a few weeks ago.

Please note, rice stocks in a number of Alfamart and Superindo, experienced scarcity. Meanwhile, rice in retail stalls experienced a high price increase.

From VOI's observation, a number of rice distributor kiosks at the Cipinang Food Station are still operating normally.

It was seen that a number of workers were loading and unloading rice supplies from the top of the truck. There is rice that has been put into sacks that are unloaded from the truck's cargo. And there is also rice that starts to be packed into sacks.

"Yes, there is an increase in rice prices. But of course, I ask the boss directly. I don't dare to talk about price increases," said one worker at a rice kiosk, Cipinang Food Station, to VOI, Monday, February 12.

Meanwhile, buyers were also seen arriving normally. Sales activities at the Cipinang rice main market are still running smoothly.

"I'm not used to talking in the media. I don't want to be interviewed," said one of the owners of the rice kiosk.

As is known, Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ordered a number of relevant ministries and institutions to ensure the smooth distribution of rice stocks to traditional and modern markets.

According to the Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Arief Prasetyo Adi, he and a number of related ministers and Bulog were assigned to distribute rice stocks in Bulog to the market, in response to reports of scarcity of rice stocks.

Currently in the Cipinang Rice Main Market, the stock is high, above 34 thousand tons, and this must reach traditional and modern markets. Once again the order is a market flood," he said.
