Army Chief Of Staff General Dudung's Message: People Must Maintain Unity To Prevent National Disintegration

JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Dudung Abdurachman said all elements of society must maintain national unity and integrity in order to prevent national divisions.

The Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) was born because of differences and diversity, and was formed by togetherness, unity, unity, tolerance, and mutual cooperation, said Dudung in a statement from the Army Information Service (Dispenad).

"Therefore, as the nation's next generation, we must defend it from all forms of threats of division that lead to the disintegration of the nation," said Dudung, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, June 15.

The Army Chief of Staff conveyed this when visiting the Kong Miao Temple in the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) area, Jakarta, Wednesday, to stay in touch with Confucian religious leaders.

General Dudung also listened to various inputs from religious leaders in order to strengthen the unity and unity of inter-religious people in the country, as well as to prevent various forms of threats of national division.

He also invited the Confucians, as part of the components of the Indonesian nation, to remain steadfast in maintaining the values of national unity and integrity and to avoid intolerance that causes division.

Dudung emphasized that all religions teach goodness. No religion teaches hatred and lies, he stressed.

"This needs to be straightened out which causes us to be divided, because in essence no one feels the most right. I also often convey to the ranks that the Indonesian Army which comes from the people is always in the midst of the people and is always the solution to people's difficulties, no matter how small it is in maintaining the unity and integrity of the nation," said General Dudung.

General Chairperson of the Clerical Council Xs. Budi Santoso Tanuwibowo, as the Central Board of the Indonesian Confucian High Council (Matakin), representing the Confucians expressed his gratitude for the visit of Dudung and his entourage.

The visit, according to him, is an honor for their place of worship. He said Confucians are committed to maintaining the unity and integrity of the Indonesian nation in order to uphold the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia from all forms of threats, especially intolerance.

"I thank you for visiting Kasad and hope that we all pay great attention to the integrity of the nation. Unity is everything," said Budi.
