New Year's Domestic Travelers Must Vaccinate And Free From COVID-19

JAKARTA - Head of the Health Handling Division of the COVID-19 Task Force Alexander Ginting said domestic travelers using private or public vehicles during Christmas and New Year must show a vaccine certificate and a negative COVID-19 certificate.

"Covid-19 Handling Task Force Circular Number 24 of 2021 regulates activities for the Christmas and New Year periods for domestic travel, then city/district administrative boundaries using private or public transportation modes," said Alexander Ginting, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 30.

According to Alexander, the PCR test is valid for 3x24 hours, while the rapid antigen test is 1x24 hours. "Persons on long-distance personal trips from Java to Bali can use PCR or Antigen, but they have to be vaccinated," he said.

He said travelers using private or public vehicles must show a certificate of COVID-19 vaccine at least the first dose.

Alexander said the provisions were contained in the circular letter of the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 as a derivative of the implementation of the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 63 of 2021 concerning the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities Level 3, Level 2 and Level 1 COVID-19 in the Java and Bali Regions.

In this regulation, all regencies/cities in Indonesia are instructed to form a COVID-19 Handling Task Force in an effort to maximize the supervision of travelers by the end of 2021.

"The task force is not only in public spaces, markets, and tourist attractions, but also RT/RW, residences, and sub-districts," he said.

For agglomeration areas, provincial capitals, tourist areas, odd-even provisions are also regulated according to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Alexander added.

In addition to odd-even, he said, there is also a maximum vehicle capacity of 50 percent for land, sea, and air vehicles.

Alexander added that different provisions apply to drivers of logistics vehicles transporting essential goods.

"They are required to bring a complete dose of vaccine certificate and a certificate of negative rapid antigen test result valid for 14x24 hours. Valid from the time the sample is taken. Because he can bring goods 24 hours," he said.

For logistics drivers of essential goods such as food raw materials, construction equipment, fuel oil, and others who have not been vaccinated, said Alexander, a negative antigen test certificate valid for 14x24 hours will apply.
