It Turns Out, The Former Head Of Pandean Village Uses Village Funds To Marry Young Wives

SERANG - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Serang Police of the Banten Police succeeded in arresting the former Head of Kepandean Village for the 2012-2018 period with the initials YS (43) on Saturday, October 16, 2021.

YS was arrested for embezzling more than 500 million village funds. This was conveyed by the Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Shinto Silitonga during a press conference at the Serang Police.

"Yes, it is true that the Banten Police's Serang Criminal Investigation Unit managed to uncover a corruption case committed by YS (43) who is a former Head of Kepandean Village," said Shinto Silitonga accompanied by Kasatreskrim Commissioner Adjutant David Adi Kusuma and Kasihumas 1st Insp. Dedi Jumhaedi, Thursday, October 21.

Shinto explained that the suspect ordered the village treasurer to withdraw funds that were in the village account but were not distributed according to specifications, there were even fictitious projects.

Shinto said that state money was actually used for personal interests, including the cost of marrying his two young wives.

“Besides being used for the cost of getting married, the suspect also used state money to play money doubling. Plus the amount of village funds used is around Rp150 million,” Shinto said.

As previously reported, the former Head of Kepandean Village was arrested by members of the Serang Criminal Investigation Unit on Saturday, October 16, at around 19:00 western Indonesia time, at the Ministry of Religion Complex, Cipare Village, Serang District, Serang City.

As for the evidence of the arrest, in the form of the Village Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBDes), Village Fund Disbursement documents, printouts of Current Accounts, Decree of the appointment of the Village Head and Budget Realization Reports.

"As a result of the suspect's actions, the suspect is subject to punishment in accordance with article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with article 3 in conjunction with article 18 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes," explained Shinto.

Shinto appreciated the disclosure of the case carried out by the Serang Crime Investigation Unit.

"For that, I thank and appreciate the Satreskrim Polres Serang Polda Banten who have succeeded in uncovering this case of corruption in village funds. And I hope the Polres at the Banten Police continue to disclose cases like this, let's keep state money from being used by certain individuals. for personal gain," said Shinto.
