Police Named Excavator Operator in Depok as Suspect, But Not Detained

DEPOK – After conducting an investigation and examining a number of witnesses, the police finally named a suspect in the incident of the excavator falling into a resident's house during the PDAM tower project on Mawar Street, Depok Jaya Village, Pancoran Mas District, Depok City.

"The examination of 4 witnesses last night was for further investigation. One suspect has been determined, namely the excavator operator," explained the Head of Criminal Investigation at the Depok Metro Police, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Yogen Heroes Baruno when confirmed.

The police also explained that the suspect was not detained because of obstacles in carrying out the process.

"The suspect is not detained, he is only secured 1x24 hours and must report. If he is detained, we will have problems with the time of detention," he explained.

However, the police have not explained in more detail what article the operator alleged. He explained that investigators are still developing the handling of the case.

According to Yogen Heroes, a team from the Forensic Laboratory Center (Puslabfor) of the National Police-Criminal Investigation Department is also conducting a crime scene (TKP) process, the results of which can be used as a guide in developing the case.

"In the next few days, it is possible for clues. For example, other suspects will be pursued again," he explained.

Previously, two men were injured by falling debris from a building. At the same time, one girl was trapped for about 6 hours in the concrete rubble.
