Negligence Of Prisoner Allegedly Caused Tangerang Prison Fire
JAKARTA - The police have determined that the cause of the Tangerang Class I prison fire was the act of an inmate. Because he installed electrical installations that are not his expertise and caused a short circuit.
"JMN was negligent because it installed electrical installations of cables that were there which caused fires which he was not an expert in," said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Yusri Yunus, to reporters, Wednesday, September 29.
However, the installation of the electrical installation was also carried out by JMN on the orders of a prison employee with the initials PPB. He has also been named a suspect.
Adding that the Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya Commissioner Tubagus Ade Hidayat said that the installation of electrical installations that did not meet the standards caused an electrical short. Until finally causing the emergence of sparks.
"The cause of an electrical short circuit is due to the presence of improper cable resistance, improper installation of uncontrolled installations through the MCB, or miniature circuit breaks," said Tubagus.
"Usually when you enter the MCB, when there is a spark, spark, the current is not controlled, the MCB will go down. One of the functions of this MCB is to stop the electric current," he continued.

With that basis, a fire appeared and burned block C2 of Class I prison in Tangerang. Moreover, the fire even caused dozens of casualties.
"When this is not installed according to the provisions, installed directly, the MCB becomes not functioning as a spark. That is the cause of the hotspots," said Tubagus.
Previously reported, the police again named three suspects in the Tangerang Class I prison fire case. They are inmates to prison officials.
The suspects are inmates with the initials JMN. Then, a prison employee with the initials PPB and RS who served in the General Section.
With this determination, currently, six people have been named as suspects. Because previously, the police named three suspects behind the deadly fire at the Class I Tangerang prison. The suspects are prison employees.
The three suspects had the initials RU, S, and Y. The determination of these suspects was based on the results of a case title with dozens of witnesses and evidence. In that case, they were proven to have violated Article 359 of the Criminal Code regarding negligence causing death.
