After Data Collection, Police Ensure The Number Of Fire Victims Does Not Increase
JAKARTA - The Karopenmas of Public Relations of the National Police Headquarters, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, explained that as a result of the fire incident at the Class 1 Tangerang prison, it was confirmed that 41 victims of the correctional facility (WBP) had died.
"The victims of 41 WBP died, 8 WBP seriously injured and 73 WBP lightly injured. It is unlikely that this will increase", said Brigadier General Rusdi to reporters at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, Wednesday, September 8.
Head of Public Information Bureau explained that after the Tangerang Class 1 Prison burned down until now the Police for the Laboratory of the National Police Headquarters is conducting an investigation.

"Forensic Laboratory Center is already down there. From the data and witnesses, there may be an electric short circuit, but the team is still working to determine the cause of the fire", he said.
Meanwhile, regarding the victims of WBP who died and underwent identification of the bodies, the DVI Team will do it. Later, continued Brigadier General Rusdi, DVI will match the antemortem with post mortem data.
"After that, they will reconcile the results, so that the victim's name can be identified. The team through the Police Hospital will hand over the body to their family", he said.
