Jakarta Deputy Governor Still Hopes Formula E 2022 Will Be Held In Jakarta
JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria still hopes that Jakarta can hold Formula E in 2022. In fact, there is no name Jakarta in the temporary calendar to host Formula E next year.
"Of course we hope that the program that has been launched is scheduled not to be canceled and can be implemented as well as possible. We hope that it can be implemented in 2022", said Riza at City Hall, Central Jakarta, Thursday, July 15.
Therefore, Riza said PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) is still trying to launch DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan's plan so that the electric car racing event can continue even though it has been postponed for two years.
"That is the task of Jakpro. So we will wait for Jakpro to manage it. For us, the provincial government certainly hopes that this program can be carried out according to the schedule that has been decided", said Riza.
On its official website, fiaformulae.com, the FIA released 16 races in 12 cities. However, there is no name Jakarta on the list of organizers. However, one schedule with TBD information or to be determined on June 4, 2022.

FIA Formula E Co-Founder Alberto Longo said DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan asked for additional time to be appointed as one of the organizers of the electric car racing event.
"We planned to go (to hold) there, but the Governor (Anies) himself asked for time to (postpone) the announcement of the race (for the Jakarta location)", Alberto said in his official statement.
PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) Corporate Secretary, Nadia Diposanjoyo, admitted that her party was still waiting for directions from the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan and the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government regarding the absence of Jakarta's name in the calendar for the 2022 Formula E organizers.
"We are still waiting for directions from the provincial government. All parties are still coordinating to get the best", said Nadia when confirmed, Wednesday, July 14.
Moreover, said Nadia, the schedule issued by the International Automotive Federation (FIA) as the manager of Formula E in New York, United States, is still temporary.
