Rudy Project Supports Indonesian Athletes To The Olympics, Central KONI Gives Appreciation

JAKARTA - An Italian eyewear company, Rudy Project, supports all Indonesian athletes competing in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with a masterpiece. Especially for the athletes who will compete in the grand multi-event, the Rudy Project created protective goggles. Chairman of the Central KONI Marciano Norman expressed his gratitude and appreciation for this support.

Rudy Project Indonesia handed over all the glasses to the Central Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) as the parent organization for the development of achievement sports. Later, the Central KONI will hand it over to the Sports Parent to be distributed to athletes who will compete on 23 July – 8 August 2021.

“Today, first of all, I as the General Chair of the Central KONI would like to express my highest gratitude and appreciation to the Rudy Project who has voluntarily come to support our athletes who will fight in the Tokyo Olympics. One of the most significant contributions is that they provide products that are specially designed for our athletes and the colors show Red and White,” said General Chairman of Central KONI Lt. Gen. TNI (Ret.) Marciano Norman.

The General Chairperson of the Central KONI is pleased with the support from various parties for Indonesian athletes. The reason is, the attention of various parties can increase the motivation of athletes in achieving achievements.

Central KONI hopes that these glasses can be useful to protect Indonesian athletes from various threats. "The main function is to ward off stings from UV which is very dangerous, but now it can also protect from the COVID-19 virus," explained Julita M. Saragih, CEO of Rudy Project Indonesia after handing over the special edition glasses to the General Chairperson of the Central KONI, Lt. Gen. TNI (Ret.) Marciano Norman.

The handover was carried out on July 8, 2021, at the Adria Pratama Mulya (APM) Equestrian Center, Tangerang, Banten. On the same day, the Central KONI handed over to the Badminton contingent which left for Tokyo at night. Furthermore, the Central KONI will distribute the glasses to other athletes.
