Patients With Symptoms Of Weight Soaring, Garut Lacks 100 Oxygen Cylinders In A Day
JAKARTA - The Regent of Garut, West Java, Rudy Gunawan, said the need for oxygen cylinders to meet the needs of COVID-19 patients was still lacking around 100 tubes per day.
"We need 500 tubes per day, the supply is now only around 400", said Regent Rudy Gunawan to reporters in Garut, reported by Antara, Tuesday, July 6.
He said the need for oxygen in Garut Regency has increased since the spike in cases of COVID-19 patients with severe symptoms, so they had to get medical treatment at the hospital.
The distribution of oxygen to Garut Regency, he said, was quite limited due to high demand from various regions as a result of the surge in cases of COVID-19 transmission.
"The condition of oxygen going to Garut is very, very limited, not that there is no oxygen but it is very limited if one day there is a delay in delivery it will surely collapse", he said.

He conveyed that the oxygen problem was being handled by the central government, starting from the supply to ensuring that distribution to each region ran smoothly and safely.
"In the last two days we are carrying out a commitment from the Minister of Industry that oxygen will be available", he said.
He ensured that no one would be involved in the oxygen trade-in Garut Regency because its distribution and sale were monitored by the police and other institutions nationally.
Including in the West Java area, he said, the West Java Regional Police received special attention to ensure that oxygen distribution runs smoothly on time to the regions.
"How to continue monitoring, if there is a traffic jam, the West Java Regional Police corridor is ready to escort trucks to the hospital", he said.
