COVID-19 Cases In Aceh Skyrocket, 284 Positive People A Day

"There are 284 new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Aceh, 87 recovered patients, and seven reported deaths", said Aceh COVID-19 Spokesperson Saifullah Abdulgani in Banda Aceh, reported by Antara, Friday, June 11. .

He explained that the hundreds of new cases included 103 people from Banda Aceh, 41 from Aceh Besar, 26 from Pidie and Bireuen each, 21 from Central Aceh, 15 from Lhokseumawe, eight from North Aceh, six from Aceh Tamiang, and six from East Aceh. five peoples.

Furthermore, he said, new cases also increased in South Aceh and Bener Meriah three people, Southwest Aceh, Nagan Raya and Gayo Lues two, residents of Sabang, Pidie Jaya, Aceh Jaya, West Aceh, Southeast Aceh one person and 16 other people from outside the Aceh area.

While the addition of 87 recovered patients came from Lhokseumawe 40 people, Banda Aceh residents 19 people, Pidie 18 people, Aceh Singkil residents nine people and residents of East Aceh Regency added one person.

"Seven patients who died in the last 24 hours, two North Aceh residents and one each from Langsa, Lhokseumawe, Banda Aceh, Aceh Besar, and West Aceh", he said.

Until now, the cumulative COVID-19 cases in the Tanah Rencong area have reached 17,109 people, of whom 3,714 people are still in medical treatment or self-isolation, 12,732 people have been declared cured and 663 people have died from COVID-19.

He stated that COVID-19 cases had continued to increase in recent days, even reaching hundreds of new cases per day. Therefore, he asked residents to continue to be disciplined in implementing health protocols.

"We urge residents to continue to apply health protocols with discipline starting from wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands, avoiding crowds, and reducing mobility", he said.

In addition, he also asked the district/city COVID-19 Task Force to continue to carry out intensive inspections and tracking, of course with the full support of the Gampong Task Force.

Likewise, the COVID-19 Village Command Post continues to monitor suspected cases and supervise patients who are self-isolating in their respective areas.

"The attitude of being alert and ready to carry out their respective roles and functions, God willing, positive cases of COVID-19 will not spike sharply in Aceh," he said.

He also invited residents not to be afraid to vaccinate against COVID-19 to gain herd immunity in the community.
