PDIP Party Reveals The Advantages Of The 2024 Presidential Election With Only 2 Pairs Of Candidates
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) wants the 2024 presidential election to only be participated by two pairs of candidates. The party bearing the bull symbol will offer and build a coalition in order to narrow the chances of other parties carrying a candidate pair.
PDIP politician Hendrawan Supratikno revealed that the presidential election was only followed by 2 pairs of candidates. First, the election is only held one round so that the cost of organizing it is also lower.
"If there are two candidate pairs, the profit is enough for 1 round. The cost of the presidential election is lower", said Hendrawan to VOI, Sunday, May 30.
In addition, he continued, the support camp is also narrower.

According to him, if there are more than two Paslon in the 2024 presidential election, the cost of organizing the election will swell.
"If there are more than two candidate pairs, the potential for the presidential election in two rounds is very large. The cost of holding the election will be enormous", he said.
Previously, a political observer from Al Azhar University in Indonesia, Ujang Komarudin, assessed that the PDIP's desire could close the democratic space that was already running in Indonesia. As stated in the Election Law.
"That's what he wants, not what the people want, his will is not the will of the people. If we refer to the law which requires 20 percent and then open space for 3 or 4 candidate pairs, it means (PDIP, ed) closing the democratic space", said Ujang to VOI, Friday, May 28.
The proposal for the two candidate pairs, said Ujang, was just a trick of the PDIP to make it easier to map the opponent's political map and increase the chances of winning.
"If there are only 2 pairs of candidates, maybe PDIP wants to win, wants to localize the other political opponent so that mapping it out is easy. It looks like it", he said.
