4 PLN Cars And Cables Damaged Due To Falling Trees In Jatinegara

JAKARTA - A large tree located on Jalan DI Panjaitan, RT 01/11, Cipinang Cempedak Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, suddenly fell on Thursday, November 20.

The tree fell due to strong winds and heavy rains that hit the Jatinegara area.

As a result of the fallen tree, 4 cars were affected after being hit by a tree trunk. The three cars were known to Toyota Avanza, Jaklingko, ambulance, and box car.

In addition, tree trunks also hit PLN's aerial cable in the area. In fact, the large tree had closed the road access.

According to Tegar, an eye witness to the incident, the collapse of the tree occurred when there was a strong wind.

"Earlier, the wind was really fast, after that it didn't take long to get drizzling. It wasn't long since I heard the sound of 'bruck' as fast as followed by the sound of a broken glass. Then many ran away," Tegar told reporters.

Tegar then approached the source of the sound and saw a fallen tree.

"When many ran, I immediately checked, eh, it turned out to be a fallen tree. I saw four cars," he said.

Tegar said there were no casualties as a result of the incident.

"Only four cars. There were no casualties," he said.

The evacuation process for felling trees was only completed at 16.00 WIB. Meanwhile, the impact of the collapsed tree caused long traffic jams along Jalan DI Panjaitan, East Jakarta.
