Following Djarum Which Gave THR Rp106 Billion, Sampoerna Also Gave THR Rp270 Billion For Its Employees

JAKARTA - A number of large companies have paid their 2021 Holiday Allowance (THR) obligations. After yesterday there was news that PT Djarum had given THR of Rp106 billion to its employees, this time another cigarette company, PT HM Sampoerna Tbk (HMSP), has also done the same.

HM Sampoerna in a written statement on Monday, 3 May, stated that it had paid THR 2021 in full on Thursday 29 May. THR was given to around 22,800 direct employees with a total value of around Rp. 270 billion.

"We have also received information from 38 of our Cigarette Production Partners spread across various districts/cities in Java that they have also given THR to a total of 41,500 employees with a value of around Rp100 billion," said HM Sampoerna Director, Elvira Lianita.

Elvira explained, through this THR payment Sampoerna strives to ensure the welfare of its employees, especially during this difficult time.

This is in line with the Government's efforts in the National Economic Recovery program to increase people's purchasing power and is a form of Sampoerna's compliance with the Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 06 of 2016 regarding the Religious Holiday (THR).

"Sampoerna is always committed to undertaking various initiatives to support the National Economic Recovery program aimed at stakeholders, including employees, business partners, and the wider community, including MSME players as reflected in Sampoerna's Three Hands Philosophy," she explained.
