Five Police Officers Arrested In Drug Cases, One Of Which Is An Officer With The Rank Of First Inspector
JAKARTA - The Head of the Police of Surabaya City, Police Commissioner Jhonny Edison Isir stated that five of his members who served in the Narcotics Research Unit were arrested in connection with cases of narcotics, psychotropic drugs, and illegal drugs.
"The arrest is executed by the officer of Profession and Security Division or Divpropam of National Police Headquarter in one of the hotels in Surabaya at around 03.00 western Indonesia time, Thursday, April 29," he said when confirmed in Surabaya, as reported by Antara, Saturday, May 1.
He said of the five members who were arrested, two of them were officers with the rank of police first inspector (Iptu), each with the initials EJ and MS.
The other two were police with the rank of brigadier, each with the initials S and IS, and a police officer with the rank of second inspector adjutant (aipda) with the initials AP.
"They were arrested along with three civilians, each with the initials CC, C, and IS," said the middle police officer.
Commissioner Isir said that the arrest was assisted by officers from the East Java Regional Police Propam Directorate. a number of pieces of evidence, including 27.4 grams of meth, eight happy five pills, and one ecstasy pill.
"Of the five members arrested had their urine tested. Four of them tested positive for drugs. A member with negative urine test until now is still in-depth examination," he said.

Police Grand Commissioner Isir confirmed that the five members will undergo trial violations of the professional code of ethics as police, as well as being charged with criminal offenses related to Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
