Pompong Ship Caught Fire In Batanghari River Jambi, 2 Crew Safe, 1 Missing

The SAR team searched for one missing crew member in the Pompong ship fire in Batanghari River, East Tanjung Jabung Regency (Tanjabtim), Jambi on Thursday, February 13 evening.

Head of the Nipah Panjang SAR Alert Unit, Nongki, said that based on laorn, fire was received at 23.00 WIB, where one Pompong Ship was loaded with three people. Two victims were declared safe after jumping from the ship and swimming to pull over, while one victim was missing.

"Based on the testimony of the fishermen who passed at the time of the incident, it was based on the testimony of the three pompong crew members who survived and one person was missing," said Nongki in his official statement, Friday, February 14, which was confiscated by Antara.

The SAR team who received information from Polairud Nipah Panjang immediately went down and conducted a search.

Until now, one victim on behalf of Reza (19) who is still missing and continues to be sought by the joint SAR team of Basarnas, TNI-Polri assisted by the community or fishermen.

"The cause of the pompong ship being burned is not yet known and the ship has sunk and the joint team is still searching," said Nongki.
