Good News From Medan, DPRD Asked Medan City Government To Disburse Aid For 7,000 Honorary Teachers

JAKARTA - The Medan City's Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) urges the local Education Office to immediately disburse non-certification assistance funds of around 7,000 honorary teachers, both public and private schools in Ramadan.

"There are 7,000 more honorary teachers and currently they are waiting for the disbursement of the funds. We hope that in the first quarter of April 2021 the funds can be realized," said Secretary of Commission II Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Medan City, Dhiyaul Hayati in Medan, Wednesday, April 20.

The PKS politician, who is known to be outspoken, admitted that the distribution of assistance for honorary teachers had been allocated in the Medan City 2021 Local Government Budget (APBD), both Elementary School and Junior High School with a budget of Rp40 billion.

She asked related agencies in the Medan City Government, such as the Medan City Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency to pay serious attention to honorary teachers considering that they are affected by COVID-19.

"The disbursement of assistance for honorary teachers can be made a priority scale compared to other programs. We have to look at the condition of honorary teachers, especially among them who welcome Eid," said Dhiyaul.

Head of the Medan City Education Office Adlan said that his party was trying to accelerate the disbursement of non-certified assistance for the honorary teachers. "We are currently in the process," said Adlan.
