Hasto Calls Megawati-Prabowo Will Discuss Direct Plans To Meet Without Being Represented
PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto agrees that PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri will meet directly with President Prabowo Subianto. The two of them will even communicate directly about the time of the meeting.
Hal disampaikan Hasto ketika disinggung rencana pertemuan Megawati dan Prabowo di sela-sela menonton wayang dalam rangkaian HUT ke-52 PDIP di halaman Masjid At-Taufiq, Lenteng Agung, Jakarta Selatan, Jumat, 17 Januari.
"In the right momentum, we will hold a meeting between the two leaders, because the historical traces of the two leaders are very strong and the ideological roots, common ground, in serving the nation and state, will all be strategic things that the two leaders will discuss," Hasto said in his statement.
"But later Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri and Mr. President Prabowo will immediately communicate related to this," he continued.
As for the opportunity to move parties to the government after the meeting, Hasto actually mentioned Megawati's political speech during the 52nd anniversary of the PDIP.
At that moment, Hasto said, Megawati had time to thank Prabowo. This is because the government has launched the history of the first President of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno or Bung Karno.
This incident was later referred to by Megawati as a momentum for national reconciliation to cooperate with each other in their respective political positions. "Including the political position of the PDI-P as an equalizer of conducting checks and balances to build a healthy democracy that is based on the sovereignty of the people itself," he said.
Hasto emphasized that Indonesia does not know the opposition system. He said that the PDIP has often provided constructive advice to the Prabowo government.

"It's just that, the PDI-P noted that, at the beginning of President Prabowo's administration, we saw various things as a result of past burdens, related to how to overcome poverty, how fiscal limitations to encourage growth, how global geopolitical issues, global warming issues also affect our situational economy."
"What happens in the Middle East, for example, cannot be separated from our domestic conditions, the impact, the economy, because this also raises expectations of world economic growth which has decreased due to global geopolitical battles. This must be addressed together from all children of the nation," concluded Hasto.
