The Country With The Youngest And Oldest Menopause Age Rata In The World

JAKARTA - Menopaus is a natural phase in women's life that marks the end of menstrual cycles and reproductive abilities. The average menopause age ranges from 45 - 53 years, but this age may vary depending on genetic factors, lifestyle, and environmental conditions.

However, there were a number of women who experienced menopause earlier, to be precise in their 40s, according to an analysis created by Universal Drugstore. They looked at the average age of women who experienced menopause worldwide and found countries with the oldest and youngest women to undergo the transition.

Women in Taiwan, India, and Bangladesh menopause started in their 40s. Women in Taiwan on average experienced menopause of age (44). Taiwanese women experienced menopause at the youngest age. Followed by India (45) and Bangladesh (47).

Meanwhile, women with an average menopause age are Norway (52), Spain (51) and New Zealand (51). Followed by the other three countries, namely the United States, Brazil, and Britain.

Based on geographic data, many countries in South America have an average menopause age of 51 years. Meanwhile, countries on the African continent have an average age of 48 - 49 years. In most Asian countries, the average menopause age occurs in 49 or 50 years.

World Population Organizations say better and wider health care and access usually correlates with menopause ages.

However, in countries with low socio-economics, where access to health services is more limited, women tend to have children at a younger age, which is the cause of early menopause.

But experts told DailyMail that further research is needed to determine how geography, culture, diet or socio-economics play a role in menopause.

"Menopaus time is influenced by many things, including genetic, biological, environmental, and socio-economic factors," said Dr Amanda Shea, Head of Science in Clure, quoted by VOI from the Daily Mail page on Friday, November 15, 2024.

"For example, research has found a relationship between the age of menopause and factors such as smoking, obesity, birth of children, and nutrition," he added.

Worldwide, the average menopausage age is between 44 and 53 years. The signs include irregular menstruation, burning heat, and mood swings that cause offense, anxiety, or depression.

Women who experience menopause may also experience dryness in vaginal areas, sleep disorders, weight gain, and skin or hair color changes.

Symptoms can appear up to 10 years before menopause and last up to 14 years. However, the average symptoms of the menopause last about seven years.

Treatment options include hormone therapy and lifestyle changes, such as limiting saturated fats and consuming more fruit and vegetables.

"The trend of the onset of menopause varies based on the state and changes over time. This variation highlights the important need for further research to better understand the fundamental factors that drive this trend and its implications for daily life of women and people with cycles, especially as life expectancy increases." said Dr Shea.
