Commemoration Of Heroes' Day, Dharma Pongrekun Invites Residents To Contribute To Save Jakarta

JAKARTA - In commemoration of Heroes' Day, Dharma Pongrekun was present as a resource person at an event initiated by a volunteer team. On that occasion, Dharma invited the public not only to commemorate Heroes' Day as a formality, but to interpret the meaning of heroes as figures who provide sovereignty for the nation.

"The fighter has given us a valuable gift, namely national sovereignty. We can feel independence because of this sovereignty. However, currently Indonesia, especially Jakarta, is facing great challenges. We must unite, rise, and save Jakarta as the first step to save Indonesia," Dharma told reporters on Sunday, November 10.

Dharma also conveyed the importance of community cohesiveness as a strong foundation to restore Jakarta. According to him, Jakarta has a philosophy as a "people's traditional house" that describes openness without limits, but still upholds the adab.

In addition, Dharma introduced the concept of a Fair Economic System through an adabular getuk approach, which is believed to be able to prosper the entire community of Jakarta, including producers and consumers. This step is also expected to help overcome the economic problems arising from the entry of imported goods, which causes a large number of unemployed and closures of local producers.

We are historical actors for the future, not just studying the history of the past. Today's heroes are those who are loyal to the nation, maintain sovereignty, and do not betray Indonesia for foreign interests," he added.

Dharma also invited people to become heroes for their respective families, by maintaining family resilience as a strong foundation for the nation. "If the family is destroyed, then this nation will also be destroyed," he said.

At the end of his statement, Dharma emphasized that the current 'not okay' situation in Jakarta could only be improved with the presence of heroes in every level of society.
