Installing Bodies, US-UK Asks For No Reply Against Israeli Attacks On Iran
JAKARTA - The United States (US) and Britain have urged Iran not to retaliate against Israeli attacks to break the cycle of war. Israeli attacks attempted to destroy Iranian military targets on Saturday, October 26 in the early hours of the morning.
The attack was a retaliatory attempt at the onslaught of Iranian missiles into Israel on October 1, 2024. Iran did so in response to the death of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasollah amid repeated international ceasefire attempts.
"We urge Iran to stop its attacks on Israel so that this cycle of combat can end without further escalation," US National Security Council spokesman Sean Savett told reporters on Saturday, October 26, quoted by AFP.
Meanwhile, British Prime Minister (PM) Keir Starmer in a press conference while attending the Commonwealth Government Head Meeting in Samoa said Israel had the right to destroy Iran through its precise airstrikes.
"I emphasize that Israel has the right to defend itself against Iranian aggression. I also emphasize that we need to avoid further regional escalation and urge all parties to exercise restraint. Iran should not respond," said Starmer.

Iran's military object is known to have been built far from where civilians live, in contrast to Israel's military infrastructure in the midst of settlements.
Their [Israel] response is a martial arts exercise and specifically avoids populated areas and focuses solely on military targets, contrary to Iran's attacks on Israel targeting Israel's most populous city, Starmer claims.
