Olivier Giroud's Goal Wins FIFA Puskas Award In Today's Memory, October 24, 2017
JAKARTA Memories of today, seven years ago, October 24, 2017, the famous French footballer, Olivier Giroud won the 2017 FIFA Puskas Award. The award was awarded for the uniqueness of Giroud's camera when Arsenal hosted Crystal Palace.
Previously, Giroud was one of the most reckoned with strikers in the Premier League. He was able to compete with other strikers to get playing time at Arsenal. His services are often used by France during international celebrations.
Olivier Giroud was once underestimated by the football club, Grenoble. The club that fought in Ligue 2 France considered Giroud not an important part of the club. Giroud was then loaned out, then sold to the Tours FC in 2008.
The move became Giroud's event to prove himself. He took full advantage of the club's trust, Tours FC to him. The trust was paid for completely with him being the top scorer and Best Player of Ligue 2.
The exhibition made him look at Ligue 1 club Montpellier. Giroud constantly amazed French football fans. At its peak, Giroud brought Montpellier to the Ligue 1 title as well as the top scorer in 2012.
