Update On COVID-19 As Of April 5: 3.712 New Cases. 1.537.967 Accumulated Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 44.957 specimens were examined with the results that there were 3.712 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1.537.967 people and active cases fell to 114.475 cases", the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Monday, April 5.

Recovered cases today increased by 5.800 cases so that a total of 1.381.677 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 146 people and a total of 41.815 people.

The province with the newest cases is in West Java with 910 cases and a total of 253.455 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 523 new cases with a total of 386.989 cases. Central Java has 496 new cases and a total of 170.684 cases. Then, Banten has 259 new cases and a total of 44.184 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to Central Java with an increase of 2.136 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 980 recovered cases, West Java with an increase of 692 recovered cases, and East Java with an increase of 269 cases recovered.

There are five provinces that reported no new cases today. Provinces that reported zero new cases were East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, Gorontalo and West Sulawesi.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 12.958.109.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 17.83 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 61.133 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Meanwhile, currently, 8.838.081 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 4.208.326 people have received the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40.349.051 people.
