Malaysia Sita 5.8 Ton Sex Toys Made In China And Thailand
JAKARTA - The Malaysian Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) confiscated 5.8 metric tons or 27.035 units of sex toys of various types worth RM1.3 million or around Rp3.6 million.
The confiscation came from several places in Penang, Selangor, and Kuala Lumpur in the last nine months.
The disposal method is by destroying silicon, plastic, and so on so that it doesn't look like the original one and can't function anymore. Most of the toys are from China, Thailand, and several other Asian countries and are sold at a price of RM50 to RM80," said Secretary of the KDN Enforcement and Supervision Division, Nik Yussaimi Yusof at a press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday, October 1, quoted from Bernama.
He added that the confiscation process was based on a court order. Meanwhile, the extermination action is in accordance with Article 19 (1) of the 1984 Printing and Publication Law (AMCP).
All these items are part of the looted loot from warehouses, storage areas, and places of business. There are many more who are still in the legal process in court, "said Nik.
Nik said KDN is working with e-commerce platform operators to stop the rampant sales of sex toys or sex toys online, including preventing searches through keywords so that buyers find it difficult to find them.
"However, unscrupulous props sellers still use various tricks so that their products are not blocked and continue to be advertised to attract buyers," he said.
