BYD YangWang U8 Debuts In The United Arab Emirates, Take A Peek At The Specifications
JAKARTA - BYD continues to expand in various parts of the world, now the brand is reopening a network of dealers in the United Arab Emirates with Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company partners, at Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai.
The new dealer area has an area of 1,100 square meters and there are various BYD units on the benchmark in the area. In addition, there is also a technology area to provide additional experience and many more facilities are offered.
Quoting from the CNevpost page, Tuesday, September 17, during the inauguration of the latest dealer, BYD also showed off the advanced Yangwang U8 car, marking the debut of the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) bongsor in the UAE electric car market.
"Yangwang U8 is expected to go on sale in the UAE in 2025," the company said in a statement.
In specifications, YangWang U8 has a length dimension of 5,319 mm, a width of 2,050 mm, and a height of 1,930 mm. The wheelbase of this SUV reaches 3,050 mm, providing a spacious and comfortable cabin space. The design is also very modern and looks futuristic.
As an electric SUV, YangWang U8 relies on high-capacity lithium-ion batteries to generate propulsion. However, the U8 is also equipped with an internal combustion engine (ICE) that functions as a range expander.
This car is embedded with a 2,000 cc turbo engine and powers the Blade 49.05 kWh battery with LFP chemicals in it. Equipped with Cell-to-Chassis (CTC) technology, which means the battery is integrated into the chassis.

The range is claimed to reach 180 km based on CLTC calculations, and a comprehensive reach with a full battery and a fuel tank of 75 liters is 1,000 km.

As previously reported by VOI, this one car itself was introduced in Indonesia and exhibited at the GIIAS 2024 event last July. Unfortunately, BYD Indonesia is not interested in selling this car in the country, only showing off the embedded technology, including being able to rotate 359 degrees.
"It is not specific that we brought this model for market tests, but at this time the technology embedded, namely E4, is only in YangWang products, so this is a form of education introducing technology from BYD," said PT BYD Motor Indonesia Head of Marketing Luther Panjaitan, during last GIIAS.
