Philippines Praises The Arrest Of Former Mayor Of Bamban In Tangerang

JAKARTA - Philippine Justice Minister Jesus Crispin Remulla praised the arrest of former Mayor of Bamban, Alice Leal Guo in Tangerang. Guo is a fugitive by Philippine law forces.

"Proved tireless efforts from our law enforcement agencies and the strength of international cooperation in bringing fugitives to justice," Remulla said, quoted from AFP, Wednesday, September 4.

The cave was arrested in Tangerang on Tuesday night, September 3. He fled to Indonesia after being charged with a number of legal cases.

The cave is accused of online gambling managed by China. He is also accused of being a Chinese citizen who disguises himself as a Filipino citizen in order to run for office.

In addition, Guo was also wanted by the Philippine Senate for refusing to attend a clarification hearing regarding his alleged involvement in an agricultural fraud project in Bamban. In that case, I faced allegations of corruption, money laundering, and human trafficking.
