Indonesia Asks Aung San Suu Kyi To End The Rohingya Genocide In Myanmar In Today's Memory, September 4, 2017
JAKARTA Memories of today, seven years ago, September 4, 2017, the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu), Retno Marsudi met with Myanmar's state adviser, Aung San Suu Kyi in Naypyidaw. The meeting was in the context of giving proposals to end the 'genocide' violence against the Rohingya ethnicity.
Previously, the Rohingya ethnicity had never been recognized as citizens by the Myanmar government. This condition makes the state's treatment of the Rohingya ethnicity inhumane. At its peak, the Myanmar military junta committed genocide.
Nestapa lives as a ethnic Rohingya in Myanmar without a world. The Myanmar government has officially stated that the Rohingya people were non-national in 1982. The absence of recognition made racial sentiment wide open.
The ethnic Burmese, who are Buddhist, is often disturbed by the presence of Rohingya people in Rakhine. This sentiment has resulted in the notion that the Rohingya people often commit crimes. This condition makes the Rohingya people often get violence and threats.
As a result, since 2013, several Rohingya families have started to think about the option of escaping to various countries. The hope is that they can live comfortably without having to be dominated by fear. Other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand are the destinations.
The peak of hatred emerged in 2017. The Myanmar government used anything to trigger conflict. The presence of the Arakan Rohingya Rescue Army (ARSA) wants the independent Rakhine region to be used to expel and kill the Rohingya people in early 2017.
Large-scale military aggression were carried out. The owner of power targeted a militant group that led to the genocide of Rohingya civilians, from parents to children. As a result, hundreds of thousands of people fled and 400 people died.
Houses and other property were confiscated. The world also condemned the actions of the Myanmar government. It was also directed at the icon of human struggle who is also the state's adviser, Aung San Suu Kyi.
For years, the Rohingya people have faced widespread persecution by the Myanmar military, which has led many people to refugee camps. The Myanmar government limits their access to education and health services.
"Most of them have their citizenship revoked. Even though Rakhine is their home," explained Hana live in her writing on The New York Times page entitled Rohingya Crisis Could Have Been Handled Better, Aung San Suu Kyi Says(2018).
The Indonesian government also took part in becoming a condemning country. However, because Myanmar is a friendly country that is a member of the Association of Nations in Southeast Asia (ASEAN), the government seeks dialogue.
As a result, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi met directly with Aung San Suu Kyi, at the Presidential Office, Naypyidaw, Myanmar on September 4, 2017. Retno received a special assignment from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to propose Aung San Suu Kyi to end genocide.

Retno also submitted a proposal to Aung San Suu Kyi and the Myanmar government to apply the 4+1 formula for Rakhine State. These solutions include restoring security stability, not using violence, protecting the Rohingya ethnicity, and opening up humanitarian access.
"I also bring the voice of the international world so that the humanitarian crisis in Rakhine State can be resolved immediately. The first four elements are the main elements that must be done immediately so that the humanitarian and security crisis does not worsen," said Retno as quoted by the Presidential Secretariat website, September 4, 2017.
