After Makassar Bombing, National Army And Police Members Assist Angkasa Pura I Airport's Security Improvement
JAKARTA - PT. Angkasa Pura I (LLC) carried out increased security at all managed airports, including Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar Airport, after the bombing that occurred in front of a house of worship in Makassar at around 10:20 central Indonesia time.
"The management of Angkasa Pura I is responsive and has directly increased security efforts in all airports after the bombing in Makassar that occurred on Sunday morning. This is done considering that an airport is a vital object of the state, so it is necessary to anticipate the potential for further threats from the incident," said the President Director of PT Angkasa Pura. I (Persero) Faik Fahmi in a written statement, as quoted from Antara, Monday, March 29.
There are efforts to improve security at all managed airports, namely increasing the inspection of vehicles that will enter the airport area by increasing random checks in the parking ticket collection area and involving the assistance of assisted National Army and National Police officers.
It is said, also conducting joint patrols for security checks in the airport perimeter area, increasing the accuracy of airport officers in examining people or officers and vehicles entering the airside area, and tightening security at cargo terminals and regulated agents through intensive coordination with operators of the related services.

"We also inspected all the culverts at the airport which were managed by AP I," he said.
AP I also continues to coordinate intensively with airport authorities regarding policies to increase airport security and coordinate with security forces to identify possible potential threats. Efforts to increase security must also pay attention to health protocols.
