Immigration Becomes The Main Issue Discussed By British Citizens Since Riots On Anti-Migrant Demonstrations

JAKARTA - Immigration is at the top of issues discussed by British citizens for the first time since 2016. This was revealed in a report on the results of the Ipsos survey agency on Friday, August 16.

Citing Reuters, in an August issue survey regarding the monthly Ipsos Issue Index, more than a third of Britons or 34 percent said the immunizations were the main issues discussed.

Furthermore, 30 percent chose the issue of health services, 29 percent of the economy, 25 percent of the crime, and 20 percent of the inflation.

Meanwhile, as many as 11 percent of respondents chose important racial issues to discuss.

Public concerns about immigration issues have escalated after the right-wing mass of anti-migrant protests rioted at many points in the UK this month.

The survey institute said the protesting took place at hotels and mosques in the UK where asylum seekers are located.

The riots subsided after a number of right-wing demonstrators involved were arrested and their rioters imprisoned.

Counter-match demonstrations that voice anti-racism carried out by British citizens are also a factor in decreasing the escalation of anti-migrant demonstrations that spread to Ireland.
