7-Year-Old Boy In Singapore Waits For School Bus To Die, 67-Year-Old Car Driver Arrested

JAKARTA - A 7-year-old girl was killed by a car while crossing to wait for a school bus in an executive condominium area in Sengkang, Singapore.

Shin Min Daily News reported that the police said the girl was hit by a car that also carried school children on Thursday, August 15 morning.

Based on the victim's brother's statement, a number of school buses did pick up students from the scene.

The Straits Times said the victim's body had been taken to the Sengkg General Hospital.

Police said 67-year-old car driver had been arrested.

Based on the perpetrator's provisional information, the collision was caused by the negligence of the driver.

Under the Singapore Traffic Act, drivers of careless vehicles that cause death face up to three years in prison and/or a fine of up to 10,000 Singapore dollars for the first offense.
