Anesthesi Study Program Stopped, Undip Semarang Clarifies To The Ministry Of Health

JATENG - The Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Diponegoro University (Undip) Semarang has provided clarification to the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) regarding the letter from the Directorate General of Health Services regarding the Temporary Termination of the Anesthesion Study Program at the tertiary College.

"Regarding the letter from the Director General of Health Affairs Number TK.02.02/D/44137/2024, the team from FK Undip and Kariadi Hospital Semarang have clarified the matters in question," said Integrated Service Manager and Public Relations Undip Semarang Utami Setyowati in Semarang, Thursday.

According to him, Undip is ready to coordinate with related parties for further handling.

The Directorate General of Health at the Ministry of Health issued a letter Number TK.02.02/D/44137/2024 regarding the Temporary Termination of the Semarang Undip Anesthesi Study Program at Kariadi Hospital Semarang.

The letter explained the reasons for the temporary suspension due to alleged bullying that triggered the suicide of one of the study program's students with the initials AR.

The temporary suspension is related to an investigation conducted by the Ministry of Health regarding the incident.

In his statement, Undip denied AR's death, suspected of suicide, was triggered by bullying.

"Based on the results of our internal investigations, this is not true," said Utami.

According to him, the deceased was a student who was dedicated to her work.

However, he continued, the deceased was said to have health problems that affected the learning process she was taking.

However, he said, Undip could not explain in more detail the health problems experienced by the victims.

He said that the deceased had considered resigning due to this condition.

"But he refused because administratively he was bound by the provisions of the scholarship recipients," he said.

Previously, a student of the Specialist Doctors Education Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Undip Semarang, died allegedly of committing suicide at his boarding house on Lempongsari Street, Semarang City, Central Java.
