Watched By 3.7 Million, Mist Movies Covered In Global Top 10 On Netflix

JAKARTA - The film Mist Berduri is on the global list of the Top 10 Netflix. Since its release on August 1, this film has continued to receive appreciation both locally and internationally.

Netflix Indonesia announced that director Edwin's film was in third place from July 29 to August 4, 2024. This film is included in the Global Film Non-English category which has been watched 3.7 million times in four days of broadcast.

Mist Berduri tells the story of Sanja (Putri Marino), a police officer who is transferred from Jakarta to the Kalimantan border. There, several cases of death of people without a head are being worked on by local police to find out who the mastermind is.

Sanja, who still feels unfamiliar with the situation, works under the leadership of Panca (Lukman Sardi), a firm local police chief. Sanja also cooperates with Thomas (Yoga Pratama) who has worked in the area for a long time.

This film takes the background of the Kalimantan border assisted by Dave Lumenta as an anthropologist in exploring his culture and stories.

The first research in 2000 was just when the illegal logging transition period was high again as part of the story. It's interesting to see the perspective not from nationalism but vice versa," said Dave Lumenta in a private screening session some time ago.

"The problem in this film is that many and researched are dealing with our identities. In the end, it is very close to violence in our history," said Edwin as the director.

Apart from Putri Marino, the film Mist Berduri stars Yoga Pratama, Lukman Sardi, Yudi Ahmad Tajudin, Yusuf Mahardika, Iedil Dzuhrie Alaudin, Kiki Narendra, Siti Fauziah, and Sita Nursanti.
