As A Result Of An Electric Short Circuit, The Residents' Houses In The Johar Residents Are Densely Burned

JAKARTA - The densely populated settlement on Jalan Rawa Tengah, Gang 5, RT 10/05, Galur Village, Johar Baru District, Central Jakarta, was destroyed by fire. The fire occurred on Thursday, August 8, at around 06.23 WIB.

A number of local residents who saw a puff of smoke and fire in one of the residents' houses tried to extinguish the fire with makeshift tools in the form of a bucket filled with water. Residents work hand in hand to extinguish the fire.

However, because the flames were quite large, other residents also reported to the Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. office. After receiving reports of fires, as many as 19 fire engines were deployed to the location of the fire.

Around 95 firefighters have been struggling to extinguish the fire since 06.33 WIB.

"The alleged cause was an electrical short circuit from the upper ceiling on the 2nd floor of a resident's house. The fire was successfully extinguished at 07.30 WIB," said Head of Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Asril Rizal when confirmed, Thursday, August 8, morning.

Only 1 house was affected by 1 family head (KK) with 7 people. There were no casualties or injuries as a result of this fire incident.

However, the burned area is 9x3 with an estimated loss of Rp. 81 million.

"At the time of the incident the owner's son was sleeping, suddenly the fire had grown on the top floor. There were no victims, thank God," he said.

Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. officers managed to extinguish the fire in a short time.
