Build Clean Water Facilities, Purwakarta Regency Government Spends IDR 8.9 Billion

JABAR - The Purwakarta Regency Government (Pemkab) spent a budget of around Rp. 8.9 billion to build new water facilities and sources to meet the needs of clean water in the local area which reached around 67 million liters.

Head of the Office of Spatial Planning and Settlement of Purwakarta Agung Wahyudi said, based on the demographic composition of the total population of Purwakarta which reached 1,020,721 people, the need for clean water reached 67,057,852 liters of water, or about 67,057 cubic meters.

The composition of the need for clean water per person in Purwakarta reaches 120 liters per day for residents who live in urban areas, and 80 liters per day for residents who live in rural areas.

"The need for clean water, apart from basic consumption needs, is also used for other basic needs, such as cooking, washing, bathing and other household needs. The number continues to increase as the population grows," said Agung in Purwakarta, Wednesday, August 7, quoted by Antara.

Fulfillment of clean water needs, he continued, for people in urban areas is supplied through Regional Drinking Water Companies (PDAM).

As for rural communities, clean water fulfillment sources are carried out by utilizing various water sources, including utilizing groundwater reserves, and building various physical facilities.

Agung said that to meet the clean water needs, his party had prepared various new water facilities and sources.

According to him, to finance these measures, in 2023 a fund of Rp. 8.9 billion has been budgeted. The budget comes from assistance from the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget or APBN for the construction of clean water facilities.

It was stated that Rp8.9 billion in funds had been budgeted to build various clean water facilities in 15 villages spread across five sub-districts, namely Pasawahan District, Babakan Cikao, Sukasari, Maniis, Sukatani, Jatiluhur and Plered District.

"The construction of these various facilities is to meet the needs of clean water which is the basic needs of the community. This step is also to anticipate the increasing water needs of the people of Purwakarta," he said.

The construction of clean water facilities has been realized 100 percent.
