Police Dismantle Sale And Purchase Of Illegal Lobster Seeds In Lampung Worth IDR 1.1 Billion

The police managed to uncover a case of buying and selling illegal lobster seeds worth Rp1.1 billion from a warehouse in Pesisir Tengah District, West Coast Regency, Lampung.

The Head of Public Relations of the Lampung Police, Kombes Umi Fadillah Astutik, said that from the results of the investigation, lobster seeds would be smuggled into several countries including Vietnam.

"This lobster seeds will be smuggled into Vietnam and several other countries," he said in a statement, Wednesday, August 7, which was confiscated by Antara.

The raid on the lobster seed storage warehouse took place on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 19.00 WIB in Pasar Krui Village, Central Coast District.

He explained, from the results of the raid on the lobster seed storage warehouse (BBL) in Pesisir Barat Regency, his party had secured evidence of 7,500 lobster seeds, and if converted into Rp 1.1 billion.

In addition to the evidence, the police also secured two workers, namely RH and RP. Both have been named suspects.

"From the results of the investigation, it is also known that the selling price of BBL per tail is Rp. 150 thousand. The selling price is Rp. 150 thousand for one BBL, so for 7,500 BBL, it is estimated that the selling price will reach Rp. 1.1 billion," he said.

Meanwhile, he said, for the purchase price of fishermen in the area, the perpetrators accommodated it and bought it at a price of Rp. 50,000 per head.

"They get BBL from the fishermen, so they are looking for or waiting for the fishermen to come. The price is Rp. 50,000," he said.
