Kaesang: I'm Ready To Fight Anies And Ridwan Kamil In The Jakarta Pilkada But Istikharah First
Jakarta - Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep admitted that he was ready to fight Anies Baswedan and Ridwan Kamil in the 2024 Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor Election (Pilgub).
However, the decision was not unanimous. Kaesang admitted that he would first pray istikharah asking for instructions to strengthen his goals.
"For DKI we are still waiting. I myself am still good at it first. But when there is a request from the public, especially DKI, I am ready. Ready to fight Pak Anies Baswedan, I am also ready to fight Pak Ridwan Kamil," said Kaesang at the PKB DPP Office, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, August 6.
The son of President Joko Widodo was previously also included in the stock exchange for candidates for Governor of Central Java (Central Java) with a high level of electability in a number of surveys. But now, Kaesang insists that he will not run in the Central Java gubernatorial election.
Thus, PSI, which obtained 2 seats in the Central Java DPRD legislative election, decided to carry the Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Luthfi to run as a candidate for governor.
"In Central Java, we will immediately give the recommendation (demonstration) from PSI to Mr. Ahmad Luthfi," said Kaesang.

On the one hand, Kaesang admitted that PSI is still exploring the Jakarta Pilkada supporting coalition with a number of parties, one of which is together with the PKB which he visited today.
"I hope that as stated by Gus Ketum (Muhaimin Iskandar), we can cooperate, especially in several regional elections such as in Blora, Cilacap, Lamongan. I hope PSI can collaborate again later in Central Java and in DKI," he explained.
Previously, Kaesang said that his wife Erina Gudono plans to continue her postgraduate study (S2) at the School of Social and Practice, University of Pennsylvania, United States. So, there is a possibility that Kaesang will not run for the regional election.
"My answer is that I will accompany my wife. That's my answer," said Kaesang, Friday, August 2.
