During the call, Amit Daryanani of Evercore asked about the launch of the AI feature. In particular, he asked whether Apple Intelligence would be launched in stages.
Here's Tim Cook's response. "Launching, as we mentioned in June, we've actually started with developers this week. We started with some Apple Intelligence features, not all packages. There are other features like languages other than US English that will be launched throughout the year, and there are other features that will be launched throughout the year, and ChatGPT will be integrated at the end of the calendar year, so, yes, this is a gradual launch," Cook said.

However, when talking about the gradual launch of Apple Intelligence, and without being asked by anyone, Tim Cook said the ChatGPT integration would come 'at the end of the calendar year.'
Although there has been no official announcement yet, it seems that ChatGPT will not be present at the Apple Intelligence launch on iOS 18.1. On the other hand, this feature appears to be coming to iOS 18.2 by the end of the year.

Apple usually releases two points updates for the main OS version before the calendar year ends. For example, the following is the launch date of iOS 17 years ago:

The pattern is similar to the previous 16-year-old iOS:

Assuming this pattern persists, the public should see Apple Intelligence launch in October with iOS 18.1. However, if you read Cook's comments correctly, ChatGPT integration will not be present until iOS 18.2 in December.
