Police Explain The Reason For Shooting Dead The Perpetrators Of Theft In South Tangerang BSD

TANGERANG - Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Kombes Zain Dwi Nugroho, explained the reason why the Ciledug Police personnel took firm action by shooting dead the perpetrators of motorcycle theft (curanmor).

The shooting was carried out because the perpetrator tried to remove a firearm (senpinya).

The shooting by the police against the perpetrator with the initials I took place in the BSD area, Serpong, South Tangerang, Friday, August 2.

"The perpetrator pointed the gun at the officer, because it was very dangerous for the officers' safety, the members immediately moved quickly to take firm and measured action against the perpetrators. This caused the perpetrator to fall from the motorbike," said Zain in his statement, Saturday, August 3.

He explained that the police who were on patrol saw two perpetrators with the initials I and IS who were suspected of stealing a motorbike on Jalan Raden Saleh, Karang Tengah, Tangerang City.

The officers followed the two perpetrators until they finally went to one of the minimarkets in the Ciledug area, Tangerang City. However, the theft failed because the owner of the motorbike first came.

While in the Lembang market area, Ciledug, one of the perpetrators, got off and was going to take a motorbike. However, it didn't happen because the owner of the motorbike came quickly," he said.

While on the Cipadu Raya road, the perpetrator again intended to take the motorbike in front of the minimarket. But again failed, because the owner of the motorbike first left the minimarket.

Officers continued to follow the actions of the two perpetrators until they crossed Graha Raya Street, Pinang District.

In front of the material shop (TKP), the perpetrator managed to break the lock on the parked motorbike and immediately took the victim's motorbike away.

Knowing the incident, the team tried to pursue and arrest him.

But unfortunately, the two perpetrators tried to escape until they were chased until they arrived at the BSD red light, Serpong, South Tangerang.

During the chase, the perpetrator took out a homemade firearm from behind his shirt and pointed it at the officer. On that basis, the police shot dead one of the perpetrators of the theft.

"It caused the perpetrator to fall from the motorbike. Meanwhile, the other perpetrators were arrested without any resistance," he explained.

The perpetrator with the initials I who died was taken to the Police Hospital, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta. Meanwhile, the perpetrator with the initials IS was taken to the Ciledug Police Station for further action.

In addition to arresting the perpetrators, the police also obtained evidence in the form of a motorbike that carried one homemade firearm,

"Black people, 3 bullets, L keys, 8 L keys, 1 magnetic key and one black cellphone," he said.

Currently IS is still being investigated. He is known to be specialias curanmor, because the criminal record has committed more than 20 vehicle thefts.

"20 crime scenes, both in the Ciledug, Pinang, Cipondoh, Bintaro and Serpong areas," said Zain.
