Directing Acting, Baim Wong Instead Makes Paula Verhoeven Feared
JAKARTA - Baim Wong invited his wife, Paula Verhoeven to play in a film directed directly by him entitled Lembayung. The film Lembayung will hit theaters on September 19, 2024.
A number of well-known Indonesian actors and actresses were also involved in this horror thriller genre film. Call it Arya Saloka, Taskya Namya, Yasamin Jasem, Wulan Guritno, Tio Pakusadewo, Asri Welas, Daffa Wardhana, Erick Astrada, and Ence Bagus.
Paula Verhoeven was also involved, including collaborating with Malaysian actress Anna Jobling.
On one occasion, Baim shared his experience when directing his own wife. He admitted that Paula was scared because she was quite hard when she was a director.
"He continues to dry, he gets hit by the blow. I'm a perfectist so it's quite scary for him," said Baim Wong in the Bintaro area, South Jakarta, Thursday, August 1.
Furthermore, Baim Wong explained the reason he collaborated with several well-known Indonesian actors such as Arya Saloka and Oka Antara.
"I want this film to be expensive. The existence of Arya Saloka and Oka Antara has merged people that this is a different horror film," he said.
"Anna Jobling, I need a fresh one, she goes round and round for a smile, I just said, 'try to kill me in the eye like he wants to kill me', he got that smile, I immediately said, you played," he said.
