National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit, Invites Youth Of Mosques To Fight Radicalism And Intolerance

JAKARTA - National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, received a visit from the Indonesian Youth Communication Agency (BKPRMI) at the National Police Headquarters, Monday, March 22.

The National Police Chief, who was seen wearing a black cap, said that approaches and discussions with religious community organizations (mass organizations) are very important to do in order to maintain security and public order (kamtibmas).

He also welcomed the form of intolerance being opposed by religious moderation which required religious figures.

"We are also ready to work with youths of the mosque to build the nation," said National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Monday, March 22.

The role of mass organizations that care about the nation today, said the Chief of Police, is getting better. He also hopes that the youth base of the mosque to the village level must strengthen each other.

In addition, the former Head of Criminal Investigation Agency asked the role of religious leaders to socialize 3M and food security through the Kampung Tangguh program.

"In principle, the Police are ready to cooperate and support programs in fighting things that attack the country," he said.

The former Banten Police Chief also invited religious figures and youths to unite to build the nation after the polarization in the presidential and regional elections.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Youth Communication Agency (BKPRMI), Said Aldi, said that his party is ready to cooperate with the police in the regions in fostering Ustaz, Ustazah, and Da'i in maintaining security and social security and closing the possibility of radicalism affecting the youths of the mosques.

"The Youth of the Mosque Agency in fostering Ustaz, Ustazah and religious services preacher is to close the possibility of radicals entering the youth of the mosque," he said.

Youth Communication Agency (BKPRMI) Chief Advisor Idrus Marham said the basis of Youth Communication Agency (BKPRMI) is a mosque, so if there is a problem in the mosque it can be coordinated with the youth of the mosque.

"If there is any disaster, the youth of the mosque will take part and how will the pattern of community development cooperation be in accordance with the characteristics of each region," he said.
