The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Ensures That The Bag Is Evidence Of The Semarang Corruption Case
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirms that there is no political element in investigating allegations of corruption in the Semarang City Government, Central Java. Investigators are confirmed to have obtained preliminary evidence of fraudulent practices.
"The investigative activities that are being carried out by friends in Semarang are not in the context of any political context. All events, especially investigations, are of course based on sufficient preliminary evidence that is followed up with the issuance of an investigation warrant," said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardika to reporters, Friday, July 19.
Even if the investigation is close to the 2024 Pilkada, continued Tessa, this is just a coincidence. "(We, ed) don't look at it from a political point of view," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.
"So it's just a legal framework," added Tessa.

Previously reported, the KPK stated that there were three allegations of corruption within the Semarang City Government that were being handled. The details are the procurement of goods or services within the Semarang City Government from 2023 to 2024, the alleged extortion of civil servants for incentives for collecting taxes and levies in the Semarang City area as well as the alleged receipt of gratuities from 2023 to 2024.
There have been four people who have been prevented from leaving the country for the first six months. The details are two state administrators while the rest are private.
Based on information circulating, those prevented were Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu who was the Mayor of Semarang with her husband, Alwin Basri; Chairman of the Association of Indonesian National Construction Implementers (Gapensi) Semarang City, Martono; and Rahmat Djangkar who is a private party.
In addition, investigators also conducted searches at a number of locations in Semarang City, Central Java. One of them is the office of the Mayor of Semarang.
